Khaje’ Underground Water Cistern<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Khaje’ Water Cistern is one of two water cisterns in Fahraj, located near the local market and its nearby Pashir in the large Hosseiniyeh (Sahib al-Zaman). Based on its architectural structure and the inscription, the building dates back to the Qajar period.<\/p>\n

In his book “Yadgarhay-e Yazd” (The Relics of Yazd), Iraj Afshar mentions the historical inscription on the entrance of the Pashir, which records the name of its benefactor, Mohammad-Ja’far, son of the late Aqa Abutaleb of Bafq, along with the year of its construction, 1226 AH. In addition to the water cistern, this benefactor also donated 25 mulberry trees in Fahraj, which were planted in the public garden for the use of the local community.<\/p>\n

The people of Fahraj associate the name “Khaje” with the founder of the cistern, and the street named “Khaje” is believed to be the location of the mulberry trees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
