The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Yazd Province announced the submission of the prepared file for selecting the historical village of Fahraj as the best tourism village to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

According to the “Yazd Rasa” news website, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Yazd Province, Seyyed Mohammad Rastegari, on the sidelines of the visit of the provincial media, referring to the improvement and preparation of the historical texture of the historical village of Fahraj, added: What makes the historical village of Fahraj unique is the existence of an ancient mosque, the oldest mosque in the country, a valuable historical texture, and many other features that have made it valuable in terms of cultural heritage.

He continued: As one of the eight villages selected in the country to be included in the list of the world’s top tourist villages, this village is also in the spotlight, and this selection will be made by the World Tourism Organization, and the file prepared to select this historical village as the best tourist village has been prepared for the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, and this file should be finalized by next Monday for submission to the World Tourism Organization.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Yazd Province noted: Given the announcement that has been made, a determination was formed in the village, and the villagers, the governor’s office and a set of relevant agencies worked to reconstruct and renovate the historical fabric of the historical village of Fahraj, and this valuable action was taken.

He clarified: Easy accessibility for people with disabilities, restoration of historical monuments, paving of roads, construction of standard sanitary facilities, and installation of international signs in the village are among the development measures that are being carried out in Fahraj.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Yazd Province added: The 250-meter-long village tourism route is being built with the addition of flooring and bodywork in the form of a partnership between various institutions, and various agencies have joined hands so that we can carry out measures that may have been lacking in Fahraj village for years in a compact period of time.

Rastegari, pointing out that the events and customs of Fahraj should also be introduced, added: We hope that with the characteristics that have been introduced, the effort that has been made, and the content that is being prepared, Fahraj village can gain the necessary points so that this important event for the country can happen by introducing Fahraj as one of the world’s top tourism villages.

He stated: “Fortunately, all the necessary capacities exist to select the historical village of Fahraj, and out of two thousand villages, it was approved as the second village in the country by the Cultural Heritage Department, so that the necessary measures can be taken and the village’s file can be sent to the World Tourism Organization.”
