The late Mehdi Akhavan Sales, a renowned poet, is linked to the village of Fahraj through his paternal lineage. His paternal grandfather traveled to Khorasan for trade, and as a result, Akhavan Sales’s father settled there after marrying in Khorasan, and he was born in Mashhad. Currently, his paternal home still stands in proximity to the historical Jame’ Mosque of Fahraj, where his family continues to visit.
In one of his poems, he fondly mentions the products of Fahraj:
“The sweet pomegranate of Fahraj / Did not have the sourness of a knot.”
