Camel Garden of Fahraj

Camel Garden of Fahraj – A Fusion of Tradition, Agriculture, and Eco-Tourism

For centuries, camels have been inseparably linked with the deserts of Fahraj. The desert has long served as a haven for camels and their herders. Building on this age-old relationship, camel breeding has become a viable opportunity for both agricultural development and tourism in this historic village.

One of the most significant steps toward this goal is the establishment of the Fahraj Camel Garden, a unique agricultural-tourism complex inaugurated in 2023 (1402 SH) on a 5,000-square-meter plot of land.

This picturesque facility is home to a variety of native camel breeds and plays a key role in camel breeding and genetic improvement in the Yazd province. The center has already achieved notable success in sustainable business practices. Its current mission is to promote camel farming nationwide through education and tourist engagement.

A Two-Fold Experience: Breeding and Tourism

The Camel Garden is divided into two main sections:

  • Camel Breeding Zone: Includes specialized pens where visitors can observe different Iranian camel breeds and learn about their unique traits and care practices.

  • Tourism & Hospitality Zone: Offers a relaxing rest area and a traditional restaurant serving local agricultural products and camel-based goods, providing visitors with an authentic taste of desert life.

This innovative blend of ecology, culture, and economy makes the Fahraj Camel Garden a model for sustainable rural development and desert tourism in Iran.
